Since I've only been designing for a few months, I've learned so much and met so many AMAZING people who have helped me along the way. I just took part in The Design Factor challenge over at Digi Scrap Connect and it was an amazing experience. Ripple does a fantastic job of creating a welcoming and homey place for everyone in the digiscrap community. Make sure you get over there and see all the great things happening!!

Design Factor Week #2 and 2 FREEBIES!!!

Well, I just barely made it in time with this challenge for Week 2 but I'm very happy with how this mini kit turned out. Since Chelsea was recently initiated into Phi Mu Sorority, she has been bugging me to do a kit for her. Part of the sorority's creed includes the words: Love, Honor, and Truth. So that's how I came up with the name for this kit. The quatrefoil is the symbol used for the badge. I really enjoyed working with Illustrator and making this shape in the program was definitely a challenge. I definitely see myself doing a lot more with Illustrator in the future. It was so fun!!

So, Sarah (raineybug) over at Enchanted Studio Scraps had the cutest boxer that needed a good home. Well, Jim and I are dog lovers and we thought the least we could do was foster the dog for a little while. Kane came to us yesterday and both Jim and I fell in love with him. I'm sure you'll be seeing many pages with him in them.

Once again we are a two dog household, and for the first time since Jim and I have been together, I am outnumbered by the boys in the household. Should be interesting.

So, I'm realizing that the more I learn about designing digi-scrap kits, the LESS I know!! I'm amazed by all the wonderful designs created by everyone and I wonder how they all do it over and over again. Today's challenge was to make an alpha and learn how to use a new cutter action I bought. It was a BLAST!! It's amazing how helpful it is to actually read directions instead of trying to figure it out on my own. So anyway, I did the alpha and since it was so fun, I just called it FUN ALPHA!! And here is the FREEBIE for you:

For those of you who know me, then you know I have two daughters in college!! One is at the University of Florida and the other one is at Florida State University!! My hubby and I are just BURSTING with pride and both my girls are scared and excited!! Mostly they are feeling the first true independence in their lives.
